NEC and Sharp announce a joint venture-- one combining the NEC Display Solutions (NDS) subsidiary with Sharp, creating a single entity bringing together the strengths of the two companies in order to visualisation address the needs of global customers.

The two companies are all but set to complement each other. After all, NDS is a strong presence in the display market, offering visual technology and digital signage solutions for a variety of markets. Meanwhile Sharp brings a decade-long history display solution, and offers advanced technologies such as next-gen 8K LCD monitors.

Server maker Supermicro announces what it claims is the broadest portfolio of validated NGC-ready systems in the industry, all optimised to accelerate AI and deep learning applications.

Supermicro NGC-ready systems allow customers to train AI models using Nvidia V100 Tensor core GPUs and to perform inference using T4 Tensor core GPUs. NGC hosts GPU-optimised software containers for deep learning, machine learning and HPC applications, pre-trained models and SDKs able to run anywhere the Supermicro NGC-ready systems are deployed, be it datacentres, cloud, edge micro-datacentres or distributed remote locations as environment-resilient and secured Nvidia-ready for edge servers powered by the Nvidia EGX intelligent edge platform.

VuWall offers to help those on the front lines of the coronavirus (aka Covid-19) with the free download of the VuWall2 visualisation tool, allowing organisations to create a temporary video wall solution.

A survey by monitoring and management software and services provider Unify Square reveals 74% of employees do not see a "significant" decrease in emails since they started using collaboration applications, even as 66% have managed to balance the use of both email and such apps.

The survey involves over 500 enterprise end-user employees working at organisations with at least 1000 employees. The employees come from varied industries, namely government, healthcare, consumer, education, finance, manufacturing, legal, transportation, insurance and marketing, and come from all age groups and levels of the corporate pecking order, starting from entry level up to the C-suite.
