Avaya launches Flare Experience, a new range of high-end video conferencing products and services.
The technology runs on Google Android.
Flare is first available in Avaya's Desktop Video Device. The plainly named 11.6" HD multi-touch tablet comes with an integrated HD camera, dual microphones and stereo speaker.
Its touchscreen context-sensitive interface allows easy management of contacts spread through video, e-mail, IM, social networks and phone. It can pull together ad hoc meeting, including HD conferences. The tablet has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth supprt, an ethernet jack and 2 USB ports.
In the pipeline are Avaya developed apps for conferences recording and speech to text.
Avaya also announces Collaboration Server, a new software package to support its collaboration platform on a single server.
