BenQ announces the PD2700Q-- a 27-inch 2560x1440 resolution monitor the company says is aimed mainly for customers of the "designer" variety.

BenQ Designer MonitorThe monitor offers 3 self-explanatory brightness/contrast profiles aimed at different use cases. Darkroom promises more clarity and sharpness to image details, CAD/CAM ensures technical illustrations stand out and Animation enhances dark shadow details.

Interestingly Windows users can have multiple modes on different parts of the display using through screen partitioning DualView functionality.

On the hardware side, the PD2700Q features an IPS panel promising wide viewing angles, a palette of 1.07 billion colours and the display of 100% of both sRGB and Rec. 709 colour spaces. Contrast ratio is 1000:1, brightness is 350cd/m2, response time clocks at 12ms and vertical refresh is 50-76Hz.

Also included are Flicker-Free and Low Blight technologies, as well as stereo 1W speakers. The monitor sits on a pivoting adjustable stand and includes HDMI, DP, MiniDP and x2 USB 2.0 ports together with a headphone jack.
