WyreStorm gives the EX-70-G2 a spec boost-- the entry-level HDBaseT extender includes support for 4K UHD and RS232 support. It is also HDCP 2.2 compliant for point-to-point HDMI extension with enhanced control options, such as CEC.

WyreStorm EX-70-G2Class B HDBaseT handles the delivery of 3840 x 2160 resolution video at 30Hz 8-bit 4:4:4, or both 3840 x 2160 and 4096 x 2160 signals at 60hz 8-bit 4:2:0 to 35m., or 1080p 60Hz 48-bit to 70m, with multi-channel audio support up to Dolby Atmos and DTS-X.

In terms of control, the model update adds bidirectional RS232 as well as the previously supported bi-directional IR, enabling source or display control from either end. It also allows CEC passthrough for one-touch on/off commands. Connection to 3rd party IR/control products is also possible by connecting a WyreStorm IR link cable. Two-way PoH power offers installers flexible and convenient PSU-free installation, enabling Tx or Rx to be remotely powered from either location depending on the needs of the application, simplifying installation and reducing potential points of failure in a system.

Version 2 of the EX-70-G2 also features auto EDID management, all within the same compact 15mm chassis for effortless installation behind flush-mounted displays.
