Avaya updates its SME UC suite with IP Office 8.0-- now including a new set of business mobility features.
The mobility application suite, one-X Mobile Preferred for IP Office, enables access for UC capabilities on both Android and iPhone devices, with capabilities such as full multi-party conference management, integrated presence, instant messaging, geopresence and visual voicemail.
Avaya says the new one-X Mobile Preferred for IP Office builds on Essential Mobility, the smartphone UC solution currently available on Symbian, Windows Moible and iPhone devices (Android and Blackberry support available from Q1 2012).
IP Office 8.0 also provides "serverless" collaboration via the integrated Avaya C110 UC module, eliminating the need for an external server in IP Office implementations. New plug-ins provide more communication options, including Google Talk integration and call making/receiving from a Salesforce.com page.
