Samsung and Radvision Co-Launch Affordable Video Conferencing

Samsung and Radvision join forces to design and develop the VC240 HD desktop video conferencing solution that's embedded into a high resolution LCD monitor.

The VC240 unit, combining the Radvision video conferencing engine with a 24" widescreen Samsung LCD with built-in HD camera, hifi speakers, and dual echo cancelling mics will be distributed by Radvision. VC240 can operate as both a stand-alone HD video conferencing device and as a 24" high res monitor.

Both companies feel there is an opportunity to break the price barrier of traditional video conferencing now, hopefully long before the Cisco, Polycom, and others can come to market with their own SME-affordable conferencing concepts. The stakes are high as the race to bring affordable video conferencing to Europe's small and medium enterprises now appears to be rapidly evolving into more of a long sprint than a marathon.

"The VC240 is a game-changer," says Itai Margalit, Radvision General Manager for EMEA (shown here in our photo during the press conference at Samsung's UK office.)
