Huawei Jumps In at CeBIT

China's giant telecom equipment provider, the "Asian Cisco," made it to CeBIT with a display of its videoconferencing offer.

With a 65" inch Panasonic plasma, panoramic camera set and spatial sound, Huawei stress their telecom history as a reliable and secure supplier. Their Telepresence also uses a simplified operation via touchscreen.

Based on ITU standard protocol for compatibility with other vendors, Huawei also supports IMS architecture, PSTN voice call and 3G mobile over connections including IP, E1, 4E1 and wireless.

With typical Chinese frugality in mind, Huawei stresses the importance of compatibility with legacy systems and its ability to deliver life-size HD at only 2Mbps bandwidth.
