The Cisco wallet is clearly wide open as the company makes yet another acquisition this month-- network management server and software developer BroadHop.

BroadHopFinancial details of the acquisitions are not available.

BroadHop develops policy control and service management products for mobile and fixed carrier networks. Already a Cisco service provider wifi partner, its products support the Cisco Open Network Environment (ONE) initiative.

According to Cisco reasons for the purchase include the growth of global IP traffic (set to triple over the next 5 years) and a need for large scale policy control and services development.

Post-acquisition BroadHop will make part of the Cisco Service Provider Networking Group, reporting to Software and Applications VP Shailesh Shukla.
