VMware announces its collaboration with "key industry partners"-- Canonical, Dell, enStratus and OpsCode-- in order to expand its vision of becoming something akin to cloud computing's Microsoft.

Cloud Foundry logoUbuntu guardian Canonical will include Cloud Foundry's client and server components in its Ubuntu build (11.10), with client and server deployable tools using Ensemble-- allowing users to deploy applications in AWS, Openstack or their own internal servers.

Dell will release a version of its Crowbar software framework allowing Cloud Foundry installation and configuration onto bare-metal servers.

enStratus will add Cloud Foundtry to its service catalog-- enabling Cloud Foundry deployment and management on the 18 clouds it currently support, as well as any vSphere or vCloud director environments.

Finally Opscode will release Vmware-built Cloud Foundry deployment Chef "recipes" (sysadmin scripts), integrating them into Opscode Hosted Chef (OHC) cloud automation systems integration framework.

VMware says through these collaborations and integrations Cloud Foundry server will now be easily deployable into any cloud from the world's top cloud management software products.
