Google finds another ally in the quest to further grow in cloud in the shape of DXC Technology, the global systems integrator formerly known as EDS, which in turn was a Hewlett-Packard spinoff.
The "strategic partnership" involves the integration of DXC digital solutions on Google Cloud Platform. In addition, DXC plans to launch a Google Cloud Platform Center of Excellence (COE) and a Google CLoud AI COE to provide customers with secure, scalable and agile cloud-based platform leveraging advanced data analytics capabilities. Initially the collaboration focuses on industries such as insurance, oil and gas exploration, automotive, consumer products, retail, and banking and capital markets.

The resulting insights will enable clients to provide more personalized, tailored digital solutions-- while capitalising on the capability, value and benefits of an open, collaborative and secure cloud.”
DXC offerings in Workplace and Mobility, Cloud and Platform Services, Analytics, Business Process Services and Security are set to combine with products from Google Cloud Platform to create "compelling new enterprise solutions." Furthermore, DXC plans to leverage expertise in Google Cloud across Digital Transformation and Innovation Centres, as well as own analytics labs.
Interestingly, the partnership comes as Google announces support for VMworkloads through the Google Cloud VMware Solution by CloudSimple. DXC was one of the first partners to join VMware Cloud on AWS, and the two companies collaborated to create solutions such as the MyWorkStyle digital workspace.
