Rackspace Invests in European Cloud

Rackspace announces an ambitious EMEA expansion plan-- one involving "heavy" investment in growing footprint in Germany and N. Europe, allowing it to deliver better services to customers in the region, as well as handle growing demand.

Rackspace EuropeAccording to the company, the investment not only reflects its success in EMEA, but also that of its alliance partners, namely Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services. It is also proof of the growth and maturity of the cloud market in the region. Thus, Rackspace plans to open a new Germany office in Munich, as well as hire more people.

The company says it will hire 100 additional commercial cloud experts, technical cloud solutions architects and professional service team members in Germany, and up to 70 people in N. Europe. In total, Rackspace will have over 1200 employees based in Europe, adding to a global workforce of 6600.

Combining both our local experience and global expertise, we’ve been able to build the deep local relationships of a boutique provider, augmented by our extensive network of experts across the world," the company adds. “As many of our customers take the next steps on their cloud adoption journey, exploring how they can use it to improve sales and drive greater revenue, we are investing in our local resources to ensure they have access to expert guidance that will provide them with the best chance of success.”
