HP integrates Autonomy WorkSite on-premise document and email management with Flow CM public file sharing and collaboration to create Autonomy LinkSite, a hybrid cloud file sharing and email management solution.
According to the company LinkSite provides enterprise-grade document/email management and collaboration within a system as easy and simple to use as any consumer solution. It synchronises files on internal WorkSite deployments with cloud-based storage, making internal files available outside corporate firewalls.
All files inherit read/write permissions from their in-house versions.
Unlike similar enterprise file-sharing services (Citrix ShareFile, Novell Filr), WorkSite is integrated with an existing WorkSite content management system, meaning admins do not need to set up separate hosted file service policies and users do not have to to learn a new interface.
Users access LinkSite through either any HTML5-capable browser or iOS/Android apps. A dashboard allows admins to manage file settings and check on usage statistics.
“For the first time, organizations no longer have to turn a blind eye to continued use of undocumented consumer file sharing services,” HP says. “Businesses now have a very attractive alternative that satisfies the needs of the users as well as the IT and compliance teams.”
