SUSE announces the Dell SUSE Cloud Solution-- an OpenStack-powered enterprise-class private cloud solution combining Dell hardware and services with SUSE software. 

The solution uses SUSE Cloud as cloud management reference platform and runs on Dell PowerEdge servers. The OS of choice is OpenStack, while Dell Crowbar handles software installation. 

“As a part of our ongoing commitment to build solutions on open standards, we are proud to have partnered with SUSE, one of Dell’s Emerging Solutions Ecosystem Partners, to create an enterprise-ready private cloud solution that provides the support many customers require.” Dell Server Solutions VP Forrest Norrod says. 

In addition SUSE announces the global availability of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server basic and priority support on Windows Azure, together with openSUSE 12.3 on Windows Azure. 

The result of a 6-year collaboration between SUSE and Microsoft, the software provides interoperable systems for organisations running mixed Windows and Linux environments.
