NTT Communications announces the global availability of its virtualised Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering, the NTT Enterprise Cloud, through data centres in the UK, US and Asia Pacific.

NTTThe company will open a futher 3 more data centres in Australia, Malaysia and Thailand in March 2013.

Launched in June 2012 with data centres in Japan and Hong Kong, the NTT Enterprise Cloud uses the open source Openflow SDN standard within its compute and network resource virtualisation. The technology enables upward- and downward-scalable Bandwidth-on-Demand (BoD), Recovery-as-a-Service (Raas) and the use of globally distributed data centres as a single resource pool.

The service allows customers to begin with as little as 1GHz CPU, 50GB storage and 1GB memory with incremental resource increase according to overall requirements with pay-per-use invoicing. Setup comes through a single dashboard allowing users to configure virtual machines, firewalls, load balancers and other add/modify/delete (AMD) changes without need to open a support ticket.
