IDC's Western European Security Appliance tracker says factory revenues for the W. European security market increased by 20.7% over 2009. This is the first double-digit annual growth since last year. 

Cisco retains top place in the firewall market, with 2010 seeing especially high growth for higher-end firewalls. 

UTM was the largest tracked security appliances market. The report says that UTM vendors should do well as customers are wanting more for less. 

Content management appliance revenue shows the strongest growth this year. McAfee takes the top spot for the first time, followed by Cisco. 

The VPN market appliance also has strong potential, with the ever increasing number of remote and mobile workers.
