Hyperconverged infrastructure specialist SimpliVity announces the release of OmniStack 3.5-- an update adding support for Hyper-V together with existing vSphere and KVM hypervisor compatibility.

Simplivity OmnistackOmniStack combines and integrates compute, network and storage with ASIC-accelerated x86 server base hardware and hypervisors auch as vSphere. Hyper-V environment support comes within Windows Server 2016, with the same "accelerated data efficiency, global unified management, and built-in data protection for Hyper-V based virtual machines running on SimpliVity hyper-converged infrastructure" as vSphere-supporting OmniStack.

"We’ve broadened our portfolio with OmniStack for Hyper-V," the company says. "In addition to increasing productivity with sophisticated automation and predictive analysis, and delivering greater availability and risk mitigation through expanded multi-site deployment options.”

As well as Hyper-V support, OmniStack 3.5 includes an Intelligent Workload Optimiser (integrates storage performance and locations with vSphere Distributed Resource Sheduler), a REST API (accelerates development and integration of 3rd party solutions and custom applications), expanded multi-node stretch cluster support (handles hyperconverged infrastructure spanning multiple sites) and a web-ased OmniVew tool (provides predictive analytics and trend analysis).

OmniStack 3.5 and OmniView are available on April 2016.
