Excellent Server Rooms Through Volume Design

Print

Server roomMinkels issues a white paper on server room design and layout-- applying the cubic meters (rather than square meters) or volume available as one of its basic layout principles.

The company says its "volume method" enables the making of better choices quicker, particularly in cooling solution implementation.

The traditional approach using square meters leads to inappropriate initial choices leaing to an increased continuity risk during the data centre's life span.

The white paper keeps the choice of cooling medium in mind-- if one designs a server room based on square meters it might to choose water cooling, when the room may have enough volume for more energy (and cost) effictive air cooling.
