The SAS6160 allows multiple servers to connect to one or more independent external storage systems. This extends the capabilities of SAS in DAS environments.
It features 16 non-blocking 4-lane wide ports to provide a 24GB/s SAS connection per port. The switch uses JBOD or RBOD storage subsystems to support connectivity of up to 1000 SATA and SAS devices.
The embedded SDM utility offers port configuration and zoning, firmware management, diagnostics and SAS topology viewing. This enables reconfiguration without reconnecting cables or adding hardware.
