Storage systems provider Nexsan launches the E5510-- offering over 1PB of capacity in 27U of rack space with optional support for both asynchronous and synchronous data replication.
The asynchronous replication feature allows the separate configuration of off-site data replication for each storage pool on the primary E500 system, as well as the manual data transfer from the E5000 to an external storage device for offline replication.
Meanwhile synchronous replication allows the mirroring all data in a storage pool between a source and a target Nexsan storage system connected to the E5000 via Fibre Channel.
The FASTier system leverages multiple SSD technology tiers, accelerating storage system performance with NL-SAS, SATA or SAS drives, and Nexsan says AutoMaid technology reduces power consumptions for backup to disk or general file storage applications by up to 85%.
Other features include reservation-less snapshots, replication, quotas, AD and LDAP integration and thin provisioning, with the Nexsan E-Centre GUI allows easy deployment and ongoing management of multiple dispersed systems through a single pane of glass.
