Asigra TrueNASThe TrueNAS Backup Appliance combines the latest version of the Asigra Cloud Backup Evolved solution with iXsystems TrueNAS storage hardware. It features the OpenZFS open source file system and volume management for flexibility, and includes data protection and next-gen security to protect backup data from malware attacks, including ransomware Attack-Loops.

Asigra Cloud Backup provides automation features together with a user-friendly console, while the TrueNAS hybrid storage system offers high availability and scalability. Models include the Asigra TrueNAS Backup Appliance X10, X20, M40 and M50, capacities ranging from 60TB to 10PB.

Interestingly, Asigra client and backup system software will also be available for all FreeNAS systems in deployment, including the FreeNAS Mini. Customers can backup remote FreeNAS systems and associated clients via Asigra to larger TrueNAS or FreeNAS systems, with global deduplication, instant recovery and ransomware protection.

Being multi-functional storage, the appliances can also be used as general purpose NAS, with support for all common operating systems, hypervisor and applications. The system provides a choice of SMB, AFP or NFS for file storage, iSCSI for block storage or S3-compatible APIs for object storage, and includes a future-proof 128-bit "scale up" OpenZFS file system. All systems scale seamlessly as required, offer flexible spashotting and replication, and feature self-healing bit rot mitigation.
