EIKI Debuts 12K Lumen EK-800U DLP Projector

Eiki International launches its EK-800U single chip DLP projector which can be installed in any vertical angle (360 degree vertical configuration).

It’s specified at 12,000 ANSI Lumen brightness and a 5000:1 (DA:ON) contrast ratio. The WUXGA (1920×1200) resolution EK-800U inputs include VGA, HDMI, HDBaseT and 3G HD-SDI.

Kensington Intros Video Adapters

Kensington launches a selection of six new video adapters-- four of which designed for 4K/UHD resolution displays and two for traditional HD (1920x1080) monitors.

The adapters follow the launch of the Kensington SD4000 Universal USB Docking Station, a means for enterprise customers to leverage 4K displays or dual-monitors without need to upgrade laptops with an appropriate graphics card.

Adapters handling 4K displays include the VU4000 (with USB 3.0 to HDMI connection), VU4000D (USB 3.0 to DisplayPort), VM4000 (Mini DisplayPort to HDMI) and the VP4000 (DisplayPort to HDMI). All allow users to either mirror or extend laptop displays, are backwards-compatible with 1080p displays and can be used with Windows and Mac OS X machines.

Sharp 8K Display Soon Hits Market

The dispay market might still be gearing up for the 4K/UHD standard, but Sharp is already preparing for the next big thing-- the company announces the Super Hi-Vision 8K display (model LV-85001) hits the Japanese market next month.

Technically a monitor (since it does not actually receive 8K video) designed for professional use, the LV-85001 was first seen at CES 2015. It carries an IGZO LCD panel, features 7680x4320 resolution and requires the plugging in of all 4 HDMI inputs in order to watch actual 8K video.
