No longer the iPad3 but the “new” iPad features no enhancement more prominent than its Retina display with improved resolution (2048 × 1536 and 264 pixels per inch vs 1024 x 768 resolution and 132 pixels per inch).

Panasonic Brings It All Together in Europe

Panasonic wins all awards for the most corporate announcements at ISE 2012.

First, Panasonic says-- following the completion of its acquisition of Sanyo Corporation--that a new projector business unit has been formed. This unit integrates R&D, engineering, manufacturing, product planning, and marketing. But with the establishment of this new business unit, Panasonic confirms it will cease production of Sanyo-branded projectors by end of March 2012.

All Sanyo branded products will continue to carry the standard manufacturer warranty even if they are sold after the Sanyo brand is officially withdrawn from the market on 31st March 2012.

Panasonic also announced it is formed a new company, Panasonic System Communications Company Europe (PSCEU) to integrate 12 different B2B product categories, project management and services into one organization of 500+ people. Read more...

Gorilla Glass maker Corning takes a look at the crystal sphere and tries to predict the future, presenting a vision of a future where virtually everything has some form of touch-based display.

Titled A Day Made of Glass 2, the video follows a family in a Corning-dominated future utopia where transparent touchscreens are everywhere-- taking over not only mobile device buttons, but also home windows, automobile dashboards and interactive whiteboards.

Corning presented an 80" Gorilla Glass display at CES 2012.

Shown at CES with a price tag of $1300, the EXOdesk platform and its big touch-screen interface could create a major disruption to Microsoft’s plans with its premium Surface model with horizontally-employed touchscreen technology.

On the 36” screen show on the Viewsonic stand at CES, you can pop open a virtual keyboard and access apps like piano instruction—as well as find desktop shortcuts, check the weather, and write directly on the screen.

You can run the EXOdesk with Mac, PC, or pretty much any other OS.
