RIM announces the Playbook will support Android and Blackberry Java apps-- opening the tablet's ecosystem to Google's more popular mobile platform. 

This is makes life easier to developers wanting to port their releases to the enterprise-level platform-- as well as for users wanting more content. An optional "app player" will provide the application run-time environment Blackberry Java and Android apps.

Juniper Research predicts 750m mobile users W.W. will either get a ticket to their mobile phone or buy a ticket with their mobile by 2015-- 12.5% of global mobile users, with SMS, bar codes, mobile web, smartphone apps or NFC dealing with ticket delivery. 

The current W.W. amount of mobile used as tickets amounts 5% of the global total (230m users), and comes from a number of early adopting transport schemes in C. and E. Europe, Scandinavia and Japan.

Three Laws Mobility (3LM), a subsidiary that Motorola Mobility acquired last year, launches an end-to-end mobile management solution based on the 3LM Android enterprise platform. Expected in Q2, with Motorola Mobility, HTC, Sony Ericsson, Pantech, and Sharp have already signed on to deliver devices that leverage the 3LM platform.

Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom-Orange announce their collaboration in a defined set of technology fields-- possibly leading to a European super-telco.
