Virtualisation vendor Citrix takes a stab at the current BYOD trend and acquires mobile device management (MDM) specialist Zenprise for an undisclosed sum.

Zenprise offerings include MDM solution Zenprise MobileManagement and its cloud-based version, Zencloud. Both products perform up-front device checks and block enterprise network access to "unmanaged," jailbroken or out of compliance devices.

Nokia: Pay Up, RIM!

RIM loses a dispute against Nokia in Swedish courts over the use of wifi patents-- and risks a sales ban of BlackBerry devices should it fail to reach a new royalties deal with the Finnish mobile maker.

In other words, nothing too new in the world of mobile titans slugging at each other in courts around the world...

Both carry the 64-bit ARMv8 architecture launched back in October 2011, and are compatible with 32-bit ARM applications.

ARM calls the A53 "the smallest" 64-bit chip yet, as well as the most power-efficient ARM application processor. Meanwhile the A57 is the "most advanced" applications processor from the company.

Like the earlier Cortex-A15 and Cortex-A7, vendors can link the two processors in what Read more...

Fujitsu Goes for Enterprise with Touch Devices

Fujitsu has a number of Windows 8-ready devices for enterprise customers-- the Esprimo X913-T AIO PC, the Lifebook T902 convertible notebook, Stylistic Q572 tablet and Styistic Q702 laptop-tablet hybrid.

While all the above ship with Windows 8, Fujitsu insists customers can also go for Windows 7 licenses.

The Esprimo X913-T is a 23-inch AIO PC with an ultrasound sensor detecting when a user is sitting at the screen. The PC automatically locks and switches to low-power mode (or shuts down) once the user leaves their desk.
