Roll Your Rack-Mountable Kit

Chief launches the Extra-Large Fusion Mobile Cart.

While the rounded edges and sleek aesthetics fit well in corporate and classroom environments, the extra-large Fusion cart continues the tradition of the installer-inspired Fusion series by including features for easy customization.

“The extra-large carts were designed with the installer and end-user in mind,” says Kathryn Gaskell, Product Manager. “The height adjustment system and storage capabilities make this a versatile solution capable of accommodating many requirements.”

The cart was designed for extra-large and touch panel displays from 55” to more than 100” and up to 300 pounds (136 kg). The cart also can be customized for dual monitor video-conferencing use with the dual monitor accessory and a camera shelf. Read more...

The Kaseya Take on BYOD

Systems management software provider Kaseya announces the Kaseya BYOD Suite-- an enterprise-class security and management platform aimed at organisations planning to adopt bring-you-own-device (BYOD) initiatives.

Based on technology from July 2013 acquisition Rover Apps, Kaseya BYOD Suite creates a "container" on employee devices to provide a secure environment for apps accessing company networks. It is admin-controllable and needs no VPNs, since it uses a private secure communications channel between applications and gateways behind company firewalls.

Security comes "military-grade" protocols with AES 256 encryption on top of SSL encryption, and is compliant with the FINRA, FIPS 140-s and HIPAA standards.

Cortado launches Cortado Corporate Server 7-- the first enterprise mobility solution taking advantage of the business functions making part of iOS 7, at least according to the company.

The software allows mobile application management (MAM) for every app within the app store without further modifications or restriction, thus sidestepping the legal issues involved with app wrapping while keeping the iOS usability intact.

Admins can easily set policies and make use of security features such as the iPhone 5S fingerprint sensor. Simplifying administration even further is the integration of mobile device management (MDM) with a company's Active Directory.

Infontetics: Enterprise Femtocells on the Up

Enterprise femtocell adoption is on the rise according to Infonetics Research reports, with the overall 2G/3G/4G equipment market growing by 4% Q-o-Q in Q1 2013 to $115 million.

Driving growth is the LTE category.

“Sales of 3G femtocells still dominate the market, despite the focus of vendors on 4G,” Infonetics says. “Residential femtocells still account for the bulk of the market, though from this point forward we will see increasing adoption of femtocells from the enterprise segment, which is a key focus for a growing number of operators.”

The LG Take on Enterprise

As BlackBerry appears to be on the way out LG goes for a slice of the enterprise mobility market with Gate, a technology package combining the company's virtualisation, security and BYOD offerings.

Currently available for the G2 smartphone, Gate provides a "seamless" virtualisation experience by simultaneously running 2 operating systems (one handling personal data, the other business) on the same device.

It also includes data encryption, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, VPN and jmobile device management (MDM) capabilities.  Read more...
