Scallop Imaging will integrate its D7-180 wide angle security camera with NICE Systems' NiceVision IP video solution for advanced video surveillance capabilities for government and commercial enterprises.

"The integration of Scallop Imaging's D7-180 cameras with NiceVision means organizations can now easily add D7-180 cameras to their NICE video surveillance solution, and stream and record full color, high resolution, instant zoom video across a 180 degree, panoramic field of view," says Peter Jones, President of Scallop Imaging.

The D7-180 generates 7 megapixel resolution across a panoramic, 180 degree field of view, and features H.264 compression and Power over Ethernet (PoE). Sony Agrees to Acquire Pixim

Sony Electronics Inc. agrees to acquire Pixim Inc., the Silicon Valley-based designer and maker of chipsets for security cameras.

Sony aims to utilize Pixim’s image sensor technologies and engineering design expertise to further strengthen its own image sensor semiconductor business.

At InfoComm, RGB Spectrum introduced a new form of an H.264 codec for streaming and recording of graphics and HD video over the network.

The DSx 264 codec, an H.264 compatible codec that encodes and streams graphics and HD video at up to 1920x1080 and 1600x1200 resolutions, claims one exclusive feature not found on other streaming media products, which is the capability of concurrent recording and streaming.
