WyreStorm Ships MXV Range

The WyreStorm MVX range brings the familiar power of the H2-Series to a compact 1U chassis, with the transmission of HDMI content (up to 4K/60 4:4:4) and HDR (up to 70m) pairing HDMI and WyreStorm variable light compression technologies.

Using the lossless compression technology featured in the WyreStorm flagship H2XC matrix platform, the MXV range handles video content technologies up to 4K/60 4:4:4 and high frame rate HDR. The highest possible bandwidth currently available (at least according to the HDMI 2.0 specification) can be sent to its HDBaseT zones using the lossless compression technology.

MSE Audio and Attero Tech Collaborate for IPD-Hub2

MSE Audio announces a joint sales initiative with Attero Tech packaging Axiom Audio Wall Plates and Axon C1 Zone Control Wall Plate with the SoundTube Entertainment IDP-Hub2 and Remote Volume Control Plate.

The SoundTube Entertainment IPD-Hub2 brings IP-based PoE technology to both commercial and residential markets with an alternative to traditional audio distribution systems. The IPD-Hub2 uses Dante infrastructure and Attero Tech uniFY software to provide performance monitoring and EQ/DSP control to individual speakers from any computer with a network connection.

Through the partnership with Attero Tech the IPD-Hub2 and Remote Volume Control Plate create a highly integrated package solution. Paired with SoundTube Entertainment passive ceiling speakers, installers can design cost-effective single- and multi-zone audio systems. The IPD-Hub2 features a native Axiom port allowing the additions of Axiom wall plates to create local inputs to the Dante network. IPD-Hub2 setup and control is supported in uniFY software to enable a single control application for all SoundTube Entertainment and Attero Tech products in the system.

DisplayPort Reaches 2.0 With 8K Support

The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) releases version 2.0 of the DisplayPort (DP) standard-- a first major update since March 2016 providing an up to 3X increase in data bandwidth compared to the most recent version, DP 1.4a.

In total DP 2.0 handles up to 77.37Gbps of bandwidth, with a maximum link rate of 20Gbps/lane and more efficient 128b/132b channel encoding. Thus it promises to address the requirements of future displays, such as "beyond 8K" (7680 x 4320) resolutions, higher refresh rates and high dynamic range (HDR support at higher resolutions, improved multiple display configuration support and an improved user experience with augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) displays, including support for 4K-and-beyond VR resolutions.
