Samsung promises to de-clutter customers' desks with the SE370-- a monitor with an integrated Qi wireless charger for mobile devices ideal for both professionals and consumers.

Available in 23.6- and 27-inch sizes, the SE370 features a Plane-to-Line-Switching (PLS) panel promising 178-degree viewing angles, 4ms response time and "excellent" picture quality. It also supports AMD FreeSync technology to synchronise refresh rates with graphics card frame rates for reduced input latency and stutter.

The charger is built into the monitor stand, with LEDs showing charging status.

Philips Monitors (MMD) launches what it claims is the first desktop monitor featuring quantum dot technology-- the 27-inch 276E6ADS, the result of a collaboration with nanomaterials specialist QD Vision.

According to the two companies the monitor uses the combination of Color IQ semiconductor nanocrystal technology and a 1920x1080 resolution panel to produce a more dynamic colour range, thus showing the "true" palette encoded in imagery.

The display should also be ideal for graphic artists and video enthusiasts, as it reproduces 99% of the Adobe RGB colour gamut.

Samsung shows off what it claims are a couple of industry firsts at the 2015 Retail Asia Expo-- transparent and mirror OLED display panels with integrated Intel RealSense technology designed for commercial applications, if with potential consumer use for the future.

The mirror OLED panel finds use as a "virtual necklace" display at the Chow Sang Sang jewelry company, with the combination of mirror display and 3D cameras allowing customers to play with an interactive (or "self-modelling") wardrobe, with hand gestures providing necessary input. The panel also features higher reflectivity (75%) than similar mirror LCDs, high contrast ratios and no need ambient backlighting.
