Panasonic Launches Tough Tablets

Panasonic launches 2 tablets making part of the new Toughpad family-- the 10" A1 and 7" B1 "professional-grade" devices with durability features similar to the Toughbook laptop series. 

Both tablets carry Android 3.2 (aka Honeycomb), together with hardware-level encryption, enchanced VPN, 2-piece authentication and custom low level mobile device management features. 

Panasonic says the the devices has MIL-STD-810G ratings for drops and ingress protection ratings for resistance to dust and water, and the A1 is FIPS 140-2 compliant and HIPAA ready.  Read more...

Dell Launches New Enterprise Tablet

Dell announces a Latitude tablet upgrade-- the Latitude ST, a Windows 7 tablet designed for enterprise use.

It has a 10.1" display and carries a 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 processor, 2GB DDR2 RAM and up to 128GB of storage. Running VMware and Citrix virtualisation technology, it allows remote configuration and management through Dell Kace appliances. Dell software also provides critical data protection and encryption.

Panasonic Aims Androids at Enterprise

Panasonic Japan announces two Android tablets designed for business users-- the BizPad JT-580VT (with a 7" display) and JT-581VT (10.1").

The tablets are shock-, dust- and water-proof, with a rugged form factor Panasonic claims withstands drops of up to 80cm (in the case of the 10" model) or 120cm (the 7").
