Crestron Ships DigitalMedia NVX Series

Crestron starts shipping the DigitalMedia NVX series-- a means for installers to transmit 4K60 4:4:4 HDR video over standard 1 gigabit ethernet cable, with zero latency.

The DVM NVX series is an "infinitely scalable" software-defined matrix able to share 4K60 4:4:4 HDR content securely over a dedicated 1Gb copper or fibre network, with no latency or limits. It has a focus on security, with 802.1X authentication ensuring every DV NVX device is explicitly authorised, Active Directory credential management ensuring only authorised administrators gain access and Secure CIP handling secure connections between DM NVX and Crestron control systems.

It consists of encoder/decoder Boxes (DM-NVX-350, DM-NVX-351), encoder/decoder cards (DM-NVX-350C, DM-NVX-351C), and a card chassis(DMF-CI8). DM NVX encoders/decoders feature built-in USB 2.0 routing, DSP and breakaway audio, HDCP 2.2 support, auto-switching, all-in-one encoding/decoding, and native ethernet support, as well as fibre via optional SPF modules.

AMX Brings N2400 Encoders/Decoders at ISE

AMX launches the N2400 series at ISE 2017-- a range of encoders and decoders able to send 4K video over gigabit ethernet networks with "near-impeccable latency."

The N2400 series devices support 4K video at 60Hz and 4:4:4 (8-bit colour) through JPEG encoding, and deliver content at native frame rates and colour space with just two frames of latency. HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 support provides compatibility with all current 4K sources and displays.

AMX says the encoders and decoders are easy to integrate with existing video-distribution infrastructures. The devices can be PoE+ powered, and operate via either standard 12VDC power or ethernet connection from the local network switch. Integration is made easiery through use of the same control APIs, software and web interfaces as existing AMX networked AV solutions.

Gefen Intros DisplayPort 1.2 Fibre-Optic Extender

Gefen from Core Brands presents the EXT-DP-4K600-1SC at ISE 2017-- an extender the company claims allows installers to place 4K 600MHz DisplayPort 1.2 sources and displays up to 200m apart with full optical isolation.

The EXT-DP-4K600-1SC extends HDCP 2.2, HDCP 1.4 and DPCP compliant DisplayPort 600MHz 4K audio/video over fibre. It supports WQUXGA (3840×2400), 4K Ultra HD (3840×2160), and 4K Cinema — DCI (4096×2160), up to 60 Hz frame rate and 4:4:4 Chroma sub-sampling. The AV signal is extended up to 200m, over a single strand of SC-terminated 50/125µm OM3 or better multi-mode fibre-optic cable.

Savant Intros 4K over IP Switching

Savant announces an "ultra-high-performance" 4K video over IP switching platform-- one giving installers a "distinct advantage" in the delivery of premium AV content to both residential and commercial clients.

The new product line delivers 4K/60 4:4:4 HDR video distribution over IP, with zero frame latency and the convenience of a centralised 10GbE switch. The chassis is designed for ease of installation, while audio down-mixing capabilities and audio breakout options make it an ideal match with the recently released Savant Pro Audio 4 IP-based switch with unlimited audio zone support and access to all popular streaming services.

The switch is scalable from 2 to 128 zones, and support for advanced video processing features includes multi-video/video tiling, video wall and multi-switching applications.

Matrox Presents Maevex 6100 Quad Encoder Card

Matrox announces the next generation of its H.264 AV-over-IP portfolio-- the Maevex 6100 quad encoder card, able to deliver quad 4K input capture together with multiple encodes, variable bitrates and wide range of protocols.

The Maevex 6100 delivers 4K/UHD (4:4:4 @ 30Hz) and Full HD multi-channel capture, encoding, streaming, and recording. Built using H.264 codec, the plug-and-play solution fits seamlessly into existing infrastructures and interoperates with any device on the network to ensure high-density content distribution and system scalability.

It is a 3/4 length PCIe 3.0 x8 card with 4 mini HDMI (type C) inputs for the capture of up to x4 4096x2160@30Hz sources. Offering RTSP, RTP and MPEG2.TS streaming support with an onboard RJ45 network connector (RTMP support to follow), the Maevex 6100 encodes a multitude of H.264 streams at the same or varying bitrates. It also simultaneously streams and/or records to shared network drives or network attached storage, and features programmable start times, recording duration, maximum file length and file frequency.
