Vaddio Ships AV Bridge 2x1

Vaddio announces the AV Bridge 2x1, a solution the company says make it easy to record and stream high-definition video and Dante audio networking with two HDMI inputs and multiple outputs.

With two HDMI inputs, customers can connect either two cameras or a camera and a computer, easily switch sources and set side-by-side or picture-in-picture for seamless live presentations, lectures and video calls. Netgear M4300 Switches Get Crestron Certification

The Netgear M4300 series switches receiver official Crestron certification for DM NVX AV-over-IP solutions, meaning the switches work out of the box with Crestron DM NVX encoders and decoders.

According to the company, most other network switches on the Crestron Certified list require a configuration file to function properly. This is not the case with the M4300 switches, since they ship preconfigured and require no further setup to work with Crestron hardware.

Crestron Adds Features to DM DVX Platform

Crestron adds features to the DM NVX 1Gbps AV-over-IP platform at ISE 2020-- including native AES67 support and a switching system the company claims is both fast and glitch-free.

With AES67 support, DM NVX endpoints can send breakaway audio from a video source to mixers, DSPs and amplifiers, as well as receive signals from mixers, DSPs and microsoft with support for the AES67 standard. Meanwhile the ultra-fast no-glitch switching delivers "virtually imperceptible" switching from one network stream to another.

“We have a steadfast commitment to continuously evolving the DM NVX platform to be the best in every way,” the company says. “Last year, we brought exclusive Pixel Perfect Processing technology to DM NVX to deliver image quality as good as the source, and over a standard 1 gigabit network-- no need for all the expense and disruption of installing a new 10 gigabit network. This year, we’ve taken audio support and switching speed to an entirely new level. Even better news, these capabilities will be implemented across the entire product line.”

ISE Launch for Open AV-Over-IP Standard

At ISE 2020 the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) proAV working group announces Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX)-- a set of open standards and specifications enabling carriage of compressed and uncompressed video, audio and data over IP networks.

According to the organisation, IPMX addresses the need for a single set of common, ubiquitous standards-based protocols ensuring interoperability for AV over IP. In addition to simplifying the implementation of SMPTE st 2110 and ensuring interoperability for AV-over-IP systems, IPMX incorporates further features tailored to proAV installations. These include AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 for discovery, registration and connection management, and specifications for copy protection and security.
