Rigby Private Equity announces the retirement of the Wick Hill, Zycko and SIPHON names, as holding company Nuvias Group takes the place of predominant brand from 1 April 2017.

Launched in 2015, Nuvias was run alongside Wick Hill, Zycko and SIPHON for the last 9 months. It operates in 18 countries and sells in 30, and makes a high-value distribution business operating across EMEA. It records revenues worth $400 million for the financial year ending March 2017.

Systemax offloads nearly all of its European Technology Products Group (aka Misco)-- outside of still profitable operations in France-- for an undisclosed sum to Hilco Capital.

The transaction sees Misco acquired by a new company formed by the management buy-in team led by Hilco and former Selection Services CEO Alan Cantwell. Hilco is a specialist in taking over ailing businesses, having acquired the Staples UK retail business in November 2016 and HMV back in 2013.

Ingram Micro announces a change of leadership-- Mark Chlebek replaces Robert Beck as executive director of the distributor's pan-EMEA division, managing relationships with pan-EMEA vendor partners.

Beck will "gradually withdraw from the day-to-day business," before ending his 25 year career with the distributor.

A 20-year company veteran, having joined Ingram in 1997, Chlebek takes responsibility for "purchasing and business management" for regional vendor partners managed by the distributor on a centralised basis. As part of the EMEA senior management team he reports to global group president of EMEA Mark Snider.

Tech Data finalises the €2.45bn acquisition of Avnet Technology Solutions (TS) business, creating what the distributor describes as "a premier global IT distributor with unmatched capabilities."

The combined Tech Data-Avnet TS operates in 40 countries and has an end-to-end porfolio of solutions and services ranging "from the datacentre to the living room." Avnet TS also brings partnerships with 40 vendors addressing the needs of 20000 countries in over 80 countries.
