Schneider Electric Presents Cloud Resale Program

Power management vendor Schneider Electric rolls out the APC Technology Partners Initiative-- a program allowing partners to resell cloud solutions from the likes of Untangle, Infrascale and Accelerated Concepts.

Aimed at SME customers, the program includes unified threat management, backup and disaster recovery, and 4G/LTE routing solutions, all directly available through APC to any reseller. Red Hat Releases OpenShift Container Platform 3.11

Red Hat announces OpenShift Container Platform 3.11-- now with multiple components integrated from the CoreOS Tectonic Kuberentes distributions, including a cluster administrator console and the CoreOS Operator concept.

A January 2018 Red Hat acquisition, CoreOS has an own Kuberenetes orchestration platform-slash-OpenShift rival called Tectonic. A Single Server Option from CloudJumper

Workspace-as-a-Service (WaaS) platform provider CloudJumper announces a single server version of the Cloud Workspace Management Suite-- providing MSPs a means to deploy software-defined virtual datacentres with lower server and software requirements.

The release allows MSPs to deploy the WaaS solution in single-tenant configurations for customers with as few as 20 users, if with the same features and capabilities of larger versions of the systems. As a result organisations do not need to pay for unused CPUs, RAM and cycles per virtual machine, since all service infrastructure is reduced to a single virtualised server.

The single server Cloud Workspace Management Suite solution supports easy migration, with integrated business continuity and disaster recovery for a highly secure full-featured cloud-based workspace environment. The reduced computing footprint makes it cost effective to run a single tenant environment, while still taking advantage of the benefits and economies of scale available at larger organisations.
