Cisco sets to push the "datacentre anywhere" vision further as it makes a number of announcements across networking, hyperconvergence, security and automation, including expansions of both Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and HyperFlex.

StackRox announces the addition of further capabilities to the Container Security Platform, including deployment-centric visibility, multi-factor risk profiling and network policy management.

The Container Security Platform leverages multiple Kubernetes integrations to provide customers with a deployment-centric view of the environment, prioritise risks based on rich context, allow robust and scalable policy enforcement and improve on the security of container and Kubernetes environments. Visibility centered around deployments allows DevOps and security teams to quickly visualise all deployments and pods across namespaces and clusters, bringing effective policy management within a Kubernetes environment.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) launches a fully-managed backup service for both AWS services and on-premises-- the simply named Backup, a means for easier protection of storage volumes, databases and file systems.

AWS Backup allows customers to set backup policies for services such as Amazon EBS volumes, RDS databases, DynamoDB tables, EFS file systems and AWS Storage Gateway volumes, with support for more services coming in the future. Integration with AWS Storage Gateway allows the backup of on-premises data on the Amazon cloud.

Avaya sets to fuel partner growth as it presents a series of enhancements to the Edge Channel Program, including simplified and streamlined program requirements, as well as increased benefits and rebates.
