Blue Coat Systems announces ProxyOne, its first web security appliance aiming for SMBs. 

ProxyOne provides protection without security expertese, as it integrates web filtering, inline malware/anti-virus scanning and on-box reporting. 

The appliance uses Blue Coat's cloud-based WebPulse for web threat protection and provides on-box activity reporting-- both features extending to remote users (through ProxyClient software). It also prevents video floods through stream-splitting and caching technologies.

EU's ICT Security Incidents Down

Eurostat releases its ICT usage in enterprises 2010 report, with the results of its survey (with special focus on ICT security) amongst EU27 countries. 

The report reveals 12% of enterprises experiencing security incidents due to hardware or software failure, and 5% reporting data destruction or corruption (due to malicious software infection or unauthorised access).

Reports of confidential data disclosure due to intrusion, pharming or phishing attacks come from 1% or less of enterprises.
