IDC reports the WW ethernet switch market sees a -9.1% Y-o-Y decline in Q1 2011 (with toals reaching $5Bn), showing a stop to the growth following 2010's strong recovery.
The analyst says some switch market segments are still going strong-- the 10GbE switch segment's revenues grow by 15.9% Y-o-Y through datacenter adoption and campus core deployments.
Cisco leads the ethernet switch market (Layer 2/3) with Q1 2011 market share totalling 64.15%-- a slight decline for Q4 2010's 65.7%.
