Scale Computing Targets Edge With HE500

Scale Computing launches the HE500 series of appliances in the HC3 family-- a range of hyper-converged appliances aimed at edge computing applications, with designs optimised for settings limited in both space and capacity requirements.

“Unlike other HCI solutions that reserve large compute resources to run their Virtual Storage Appliances, the HE500 series takes advantage of the efficient, hypervisor-embedded HC3 storage stack to free up RAM and CPU for running workloads," the company says. This dramatically lowers the hardware and software investment needed to provide high availability to edge workloads."

Arista Adds to Cognitive Campus Portfolio

Arista Networks announces an expansion of the cognitive campus portfolio with unified wired and wireless campus edge products-- a means to address enterprise moves to an Internet of Things (IoT)-ready campus.

Extending EOS and CloudVision, the Arista Cognitive Cloud Networking approach promises operational consistency and modern cloud principles to the enterprise. Such an approach, the company adds, also brings simplified architectures, data-driven analytics and segment-based security, and results in a complete cognitive enterprise networking portfolio spanning the datacentre, cloud and campus.

The 720XP series is the first range of purpose-built campus leaf products from Arista. A wired edge component to the Cognitive Campus portfolio, the 720XP range provides customers with improved security and visibility through a more holistic understanding of endpoint behaviours across users, mobile devices and IoT platforms.
