VMware releases View clients for Mac, Linux and the Kindle Fire, as well as updates to the Android and iPad versions-- allowing access to virtual Windows desktops from anywhere using most devices.
The Mac and Linux View clients are currently available as technology previews, with the Mac version supporting OS X Lion. It allows the switching from Mac to VMware virtual deskopt with a trackpad swipe, the company says.
The Linux version should be available on the Ubuntu Software Centre, while the Kindle Fire app will be on the Amazon App Store soon.
The updated clients are integrated with VMware View 4.6 and 5, and offer a desktop experience with PCoIP.
