Viking Technology launches the DDR3 ArxCis-NV-- a DDR3 non-volatile DIMM providing an enterprise-class battery-free storage class memory (SCM) solution the company says is engineered for disaster recovery.
As a hybrid solution, the ArxCiv module leverages on the experience Viking has working on both DRAM and SSD technologies-- combining the speed and endurance of DDR3 memory with the non-volatile storage retention of flash memory.
In the event of power failure or host trigger, the ArcXis module automatically performs a save operation, transferring all DRAM data (including error correction codes) into integrated NAND flash. Once power is restored, it writes the data back on DRAM for the system to access immediately following boot-up.
The ArxCis-NV is available in 2, 4 and 8GB capacities, together with other options including super-capacitor pack energy capacity.
