Imation buys the IronKey hardware business for an undisclosed sum, taking over development and sales of IronKey portable storage devices.
IronKey is best known for the Cryptochip, a highly-secure flash drive using 256-bit AES encryption and the cloud-based IronKey Enterprise Management Service.
The company will instead focus resources into software and cloud-based security offerings.
Meanwhile Imation will get 40 IronKey employees, an exclusive license to use IronKey storage security solutions and the license for usage of the IronKey brand on future products.
