Capgemini reports 83% of organisations taking part in its Annual World Quality Report recognise the need for rationalisation of their application portfolios, while any outdated technology requires revision and updates.
Thus the report shows how 42% of participating companies are planning to increase their QA and testing budgets.
The percentage of global survey participants taking at least part of their IT systems to the crowd reaches 81%-- with 82% of W. and N. European companies showing at least interest in cloud migration.
Capgemini says that as CIOs require to deliver high quality applications on lower budgets, the cloud offers the ideal solution-- being a cost effective, reliable and aglile arena for both application creation and testing.
The report also highlights businesses' tendency for application testing outsourcing-- with over 70% of global particpants employing contractors or 3rd party vendors for QA.
The global first preference for QA location remains co-location (27%), with near-shore locations within a company's country or continent (24%) following. W. and N. European companies prefer to outcource their QA to either E. Europe (12%), followed by China (7%).
