Cloud-based backup provider Veeam Software announces Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure, an enterprise-ready cloud backup and recovery solution enabling customers to move more data and applications to Azure.
As the company puts it, public cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) continues to grow rapidly in adoption for production IT workloads. However, even in public cloud IaaS, the customer remains responsible for not only their data but also protecting said data against threats such as ransomware, accidental deletion, data corruption or rogue users. Enter Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure, with a comprehensive selection of backup and recovery controls of apps and data hosted on Azure virtual machines.
Veeam Backup for Azure promises tight integration with the Microsoft cloud, with turnkey deployment through the Azure Marketplace, integrated snapshot automation, backup to Azure Blob storage and fast full and file-level recoveries. The Veeam portable backup format delivers backup, recovery and migration across cloud, virtual and physical environments. Customers can isolate backup data from production to increase security through cross-subscription and cross-region backup, as well as add multifactor authentication as a layer of defense against attacks.
The solution is available now in both free and paid editions via the Azure Marketplace.
