Savvis' Symphony virtual private data centre (VPDC) wins BroadGroup's Cloud Services Award at the Data Centres Europe 2011 Awards.
This is Savvis' second award from the event, following its winning best New Cloud Service last year.
The company says Symphony VPDC is a complete IaaS offering, and one of the few supporting the VPDC concept-- providing the services of a full data centre without the need to install and maintain any actual hardware.
Its UI has a graphical topology designer (embedded within the SavvisStation portal) complete with drag-and-drop capabilities, web-based configuration and data center resource management, all with one-button data center deployment.
Savvis offers its service with multi-tiered security and service profiles, with applications getting "promoted" (in size of computing resources, redundancy, security, network bandwidth, SLA priority, storage tier, support level and service cost) according to their progression in their lifecycle.
