ALSO partners with German healthcare purchase cooperative PEG eG to enable co-owners to obtain services from the ALSO Cloud Marketplace as-a-Service, from IT workplaces to ward trolleys.
Essentially, the distributor set up a custom platform designed to meet the requirements of over 600 co-owners representing 3400 healthcare and welfare facilities. Founded nearly 50 years ago, the PEG purchasing cooperative provides professional procurement management as service for co-owners on attractive purchasing conditions. It currently records sales volume of around €830 million, and assists co-owners with the procurement of products and services related to care for hospital and rehab patients and people in need of care.
“The healthcare sector is in the throes of radical digital change. Studies assume that by 2025 the market volume for digital products and services will be worth up to €38 billion in Germany and around €155bn in the EU,” ALSO CEO Gustavo Möller-Hergt says. “Jointly with PEG we are now bundling our strengths and competences to ensure as a strong player that the market is supplied with the best and most innovative as-a-service products and solutions.”
ALSO has own platforms for IoT, security, virtualisation and 3D platform services, and as such the healthcare service platform represents a further extension of its industry-specific offerings.
