Vaddio announces the TableMIC-- a microphone ideal for UCC spaces featuring a solid metal base construction, acoustic fabric wrap and padded rubber feet to diminish the table vibration noise experienced by some other table microphones.
The top features a capacitive touch control surface, meaning button-free operation and no "clicking" noises on the other side. Vaddio says it should cover most meeting rooms, thanks to full 360-degree coverage via 3 unidirectional condenser microphone elements. Each of the unidirectional cardioid microphone elements is equipped with integrated echo cancellation and Digital Signal Processing (DSP), including equalisation, filtering and automatic gain control (AGC).
The DSP in a companion product such as the Vaddio AV Bridge MATRIX PRO or EasyUSB Mixer/Amp provides an AEC reference from the far end, and applies to to individual mic elements. The result is clear conference calls on both ends of the conversation. Installation promises to be be simple, since it simply requires connecting a standard Cat5 cable between the TableMIC and EasyMIC-compatible Vaddio equipment.
A single cable carries power, control and audio, and the TableMIC supports cable lengths up to 30m between the microphone and EasyMIC ports. TableMIC microphones work with Vaddio products designed with an EasyMIC port.
