E-mail Print PDF

HPE announces plans to transition into an as-a-Service company "over time"-- meaning the entire HPE portfolio will be available through a range of subscription-based, pay-per-use and as-a-Service offerings by 2022.

HP GreenlakeThe company also promises to continue to provide hardware and software in both a capital expenditure and a license-based model, ultimately giving customers "choice" in how they consume HPE products and services.

To bring about such ambitions, HPE is scaling GreenLake to reach new market segments, new use cases and leverage the partner ecosystem to accelerate growth. As a result it will bring about new GreenLake offerings for the mid-market, new services for the edge and expanded partnerships with CyrusOne, Equinix and Google Cloud. In addition it will also invest in software delivered via subscription model, including Aruba Central, BlueData, Cloud Volumes, InfoSight and OneView.

The GeenLake portfolio spans a wide range of purpose-built solutions from HPE and partners, with metering and governance capabilities allowing customers to monitor and adjust usage to ensure initatives stay within budget and compliance. HPE currently offers 5 new GreenLake offerings for mid-market customers wanting pre-configured as-a-Service workloads (compute, database, private cloud, storage and virtualisations). The workload-optimised solutions eliminate time spent on designing configurations, building solutions and testing technology.

Customers wanting to leverage an external datacentre for GreenLake applications can take advantage of partnerships with CyrusOne and Equinix providing state-of-the-art datacentres to quickly turn on GreenLake services. The GreenLake portfolio is also available on the edge through a Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) from HPE-owned Aruba complete with enterprise wifi, edge switching, security, end-user analytics, end-user experience validation and other tools.

The HPE GreenLake offerings for the mid-market, offerings through co-location partners CyrusOne and Equinix, and GreenLake for Aruba are available now.
