Barco Wins Court Injunction in Denmark

E-mail Print PDF

Danish distributor Unit.DK must stop selling an imported product, Wireless Media, as the Maritime and Commercial High Court of Copenhagen rules in favor of Barco.

Barco says this Chinese wireless presentation system is a look-alike of Barco’s successful ClickShare--launched in April 2012 as a game-changing meeting room technology which allows any meeting participant to share content on the central meeting room screen via ClickShare buttons.

Unit.dk WIRELESS MEDIA

The court finds it likely Barco is right: the product may infringe Barco’s patent and the Danish case will now continue on the merits. In the meantime, Unit.DK must pay Barco’s legal costs--and STOP selling the Wireless Media branded product.

Barco defends ClickShare aggressively-- after all, Barco is market leader in these wireless presentation solutions with 500,000 units worldwide.

In 2017, a Dutch court authorized Barco to seize the wireless presentation systems of US-based KanexPro at ISE-- and KanexPro then agreed to cease the distribution and sale of its wireless presentation system in Europe and the US.

Barco has also filed lawsuits against other companies like Kindermann, Delta Electronics and AV Center København selling wireless presentation systems which Barco believes infringes their intellectual property rights.

Barco is the big boy on the block in this case: with sales of 1.085 billion euro in 2017, 3600 employees, and 400 granted patents, you can bet than Barco has "lawyered up" to protect a profitable leader like ClickShare.
