Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announces an extension of the InfoSight predictive analytics tool-- previously available only on storage, it can now be found in ProLiant servers, Synergy compute modules and Apollo systems.

HPE InfoSightMade by April 2017 HPE acquisition Nimble Storage, InfoSight monitors infrastructure to identify potential problems and offer possible solutions. To do so it analyses millions of sensors across a connected global userbase, before using the data to offer trend insights, forecasting and recommendations.

According to HPE, InfoSight already brings storage customers a 79% decrease in operational costs, tickets resolved in 85% less time and the automatic prediction and resolving of 86% of issues before a problem is identified. As such, bringing InfoSight capabilities to servers provides a "single AI-driven framework to monitor, collect and analyze rich data telemetry from across the entire infrastructure, on- or off-premises."

The current version of InfoSight in HPE server has 3 main capabilities-- Global Visibility into Server Infrastructure (a monitoring dashboard providing a consolidated view of infrastructure health and status, including system information, server warranty and support entitlement), Predictive Analytics (allows IT managers to make necessary replacement requests to reduce downtime) and Recommendation Engine (provides recommendations based on patterns or signs of abnormality).

“Our customers want to unlock the value of digital transformation faster than ever before. This requires evolving their data centers to deliver a hybrid cloud environment that is automated, self-healing and addresses issues in real-time-- so IT staff can focus on driving transformation, rather than managing hardware downtime and policy exceptions,” HPE says . “We are helping customers improve the productivity and performance of their operations and free their staff to drive innovation from edge to cloud.”

InfoSight is available on ProLiant servers, Synergy compute modules and Apollo systems from January 2019.
