Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT Corporation) announces a plan to consolidate all businesses-- NTT Communications, Dimension Data, NTT DATA and NTT Security-- into a single organisation under a combined NTT, Inc banner.
The single NTT Inc entity sits under the NTT Corporation, and will be lead by current CEO Jun Sawada. The realignment is set to be completed by end March 2019. The consolidated NTT Inc represents combined turnover of $38 billion (based on figures from the fiscal year ending 31 March 2018), with $20bn coming outside of Japan.
"While making NTT Group more competitive and profitable, our global governance will also benefit from embracing and integrating our people’s diverse talents, skills, and management experience in global markets," the company says. "The new structure will leverage their expertise to its maximum potential."
This is not the restructuring of NTT business. Back in 2016, NTT rolled all security operations, including the former Integralis business, into NTT Security, a move that involved the shuffling of staff from these businesses into Dimension Data, NTT Communications and NTT Data.
NTT is also considering further integrations in the future-- specifically the consolidation of NTT Communications, Dimension Data and NTT Security into 2 new companies, one taking care of global NTT business, the other of domestic (Japanese) business.
