Belgian reseller EuroSys Business joins the quest for more environmentally friendly computing-- specifically by distributing "almost new" refurbished laptops from British specialist Circular Computing.
Circular Computing is currently creating a network of specialised European resellers to distribute remanufactured laptops. The company completely renews 3-year old business laptops by replacing the battery and upgrading parts before adding a 3-year warranty. The result is "good as new" laptops promising to not only be sustainable, but also cheaper than a new machine.
In addition, Circular Computing hopes to make its building CO2 neutral by end 2018 and to "significantly" reduce CO2 emissions from its fleet by replacing over 90% of its fleet with fully electric vehicles. By early 2019 it will also start planting trees to make each sale CO2 neutral.
The company chooses only one distributor per country, and the Belgian choice was EuroSys. The distributor plans to initially offered the refurbished laptops to schools, before expanding sales to companies and governments.
